Iamges For This Adjustable Bed Base
A great bed but some of the added features are not implanted well.
Adjust under-bed lights using the remote control or app. Under-bed lighting can be programmed with the alarm clock feature to create a refreshing wake-up scene. Headboard brackets available please inquire wall hugger engineering. Leggett & platt’s innovation team developed state-of-the-art technology that puts you at the center of the bed’s motion. While other adjustable bases lift your upper body away from the wall – and away from your nightstand – bases with wall hugger engineering lift you up while simultaneously gliding you back.
The massage would be a nice feature if it worked a lot better. There are three settings; they are basically low, medium, and high but should be called loud, louder, and loudest. Except that the loudest is the lowest vibration — and also the most comfortable. The other settings are more like hard, rapid thumps under the bed than vibration. With the phone-app remote control you can set these as an alarm, to come on at a certain time of the morning, but what will wake you up is the noise at least as much as the vibration.
The sound of the massage motors does vary somewhat depending on the position of the bed; in my experience it seems to be least loud when the bed is completely flat, which is course not the way you’re presumably going to be using an adjustable bed. The feeling of the massage varies somewhat depending on your position, the thumps being more violent toward the middle of the bed (the massage devices are mounted underneath the bed on the centerline).
Why does a bed come with a remote control that you have to turn the lights on to use? It has a flat touch-screen, there are no physical buttons; the outlines of the “buttons” are painted on the screen but can’t be felt. The screen has no illumination until you touch one of the buttons (i.e., the area outlined in paint); when you touch one they all light up. But touching a button enough to turn the light on also activates the button.
In other words, at night you can’t see any of the buttons until you “press” one. They are so close together that the chances of blindly pressing the right button first are very small. So unless you turn on another light first you’re going to make some small, random adjustment in the bed just to turn on the remote if you’re not lucky enough to find one of the two buttons that don’t adjust the bed’s position or vibration (one toggles the under-bed light, the other locks the remote).
There is a remote-control app available for IOS and Android. It adds the alarm, a timer to flatten the bed after a specified period, a “wave” function for the massage (the vibration alternates between the head and foot area), and a couple of extra memorized settings for the bed’s position (you can program two into the basic remote, four into the app). L&P could solve a lot of its remote’s problems by upgrading the apps to work with Siri, an Android AI, or, Amazon Echo.
For a top-quality adjustable foundation with pillow tilt this is, as of now, the one to get. But if you don’t need or want pillow tilt then go for a cheaper L&P model without some of the extra features.
